Knowledge Is Power

ABOUT ME
I am a Master of Social Work (MSW) candidate at The Ohio State University, specializing in mental health and substance use. I attained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Anthropology from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2024.
As a social worker, I want to provide support, resources, and guidance to address social, emotional, physical, and systemic challenges through assessment, counselling, advocacy, crisis intervention, education, rehabilitation, and case management.
As a sports social worker, I understand the mental demands athletes face both on and off the field. I am passionate about athlete mental health, performance resilience, and the integration of therapeutic care within sports culture.
My clinical focus centers on mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and mental performance strategies to help athletes manage stress, recover from setbacks, and thrive under pressure. I currently work as a clinical therapist intern.
In my career, I plan to develop educational programming for individual athletes, teams and organizations to better support mental wellness.
With a future goal of combining my therapy practice with an athlete-centred focus, I am also pursuing postgraduate training in storytelling and media to amplify the voices and mental health journeys of athletes across all levels.
I also have a personal interest in sports psychology and the phenomena of perfectionism and mental toughness in pre-professional and professional sports settings. As an avid sports fan, this has been a long-standing pastime in my undergraduate research.
